Arsenal star boy Bukayo Saka talked about Mikel Arteta's crucial role in making him a much better player in a recent interview.

Saka has been one of Arsenal's best players for the last three years. It does not always come up in statistics, but he is always up there in terms of quality and influence in every single big game that Arsenal play.

Saka is a big-game player, and that is not up for debate. Fans have seen that countless times in the Premier League, and they would remember what he did against Real Madrid last year, too, and it just makes so much sense to have him as one of the leaders of this project.

The Englishman recently extended his contract at Arsenal through 2031, and fans are undoubtedly excited to see what the player can potentially achieve in these next few years.

Saka was recently asked about Mikel Arteta's influence on him, and how much he has helped the player develop in the last few seasons, to which he gave an answer that will make fans very happy.

He said: “He has been pivotal for me, crucial in my development. I have become a much better player under him. He has trusted me a lot and I am very grateful. When people ask me what I want in a coach, it’s him.”

If there were any doubters about the project and what Arteta brings to this Arsenal side, it is fair to say that quotes like this help to demolish that hugely false narrative every single time.

There is no doubt in any Arsenal fan's mind that Arteta is one of the best managers in world football, and most believe that he is the right man to lead this storied club back to domestic, and hopefully European, success.

It is not just his tactics and squad planning that have changed Arsenal's fortunes. It is the connection with the fans. His connection with the players, how he is able to give lots of small tweaks to adjust their game, how he is able to help improve the players into something a bit closer to their potential.

Arteta is clearly a great coach, and he obviously has great players, but the fact that he continually works on making these players become greater with the smallest, most minute details, makes him such a brilliant coach.

There is no doubt that Arsenal will sooner rather than later win trophies, and when that happens, Saka and Arteta will be two of the protagonists.
