Arsenal has no recognized striker, but could the club still seriously challenge Liverpool for the title?
When the news broke that Arsenal had lost Kai Havertz for the season with a hamstring injury, the consensus was that the club's title hopes were now over.
And in truth, that is a fair assumption. With 13 league games to go, the Gunners are seven points behind league leaders Liverpool, and have Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martnelli, three of their top goal scorers all on the sidelines.
So where will the goals come from?
Against Leicester City, Raheem Sterling was trusted with the responsibility, and so too were Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri, both of whom registered assists for Mikel Merino's double to seal three points.
But that performance didn't instill any real confidence that Arsenal could go the distance with Liverpool for the league title.
However funnier things have happened and as we saw against Leicester, it doesn't matter how Arsenal scores, as long as they score.
Which brings us to this conversation starter - can Arsenal really win the title with Sterling, Trossard and Nwaneri as its forward options?

We can hear a resounding no from the Arsenal fans and that is completely reasonable.
With Nwaneri the only real threat against the Foxes, who are in a relegation battle, against the better teams that the Gunners will face, can they continue to score goals?
That is the title-winning question.
But belief can go a long way and if Liverpool stutter, and the Gunners somehow keep them within striking distance, then who knows how it could play out.
With Sterling coming off a horrible performance against Leicester, our own James Cormack says that we shouldn't give up on Raheem just yet and there's merit in that.
After all, Sterling hasn't gotten a consistent run of games since arriving in north London, and despite the player he once was, he can't be asked to come in and hit his straps straight away, although a better output against the Foxes would have been better.
Trossard has shown he does have quality in the final third and the most chances the Belgian has, the more he looks like he could chime in with a goal here and there.
Then there's Nwaneri. The ace in Arteta's deck.
If the Gunners are to keep pace and overtake Liverpool, he'll be the player to do it. Yes, he's 17 years old, but such is his quality that, as odd as it sounds, Arsenal's title chances might rest on his young shoulders.
Can Arsenal win the league with Sterling, Trossard, and Nwaneri? It will be incredibly difficult, but who knows, maybe the way the Gunners break their league title drought is in an unconventional way.
