Christian Nørgaard has left Arsenal to join fellow Premier League side Everton after spending a season in North London.
The former Denmark international has left the Gunners just one year after signing from London rivals Brentford and his departure comes after a campaign of minimal impact.
He won the Premier League title during his sole season at the Emirates Stadium and despite not playing a huge part in the success, he will be remembered as an asset of an historical side.
Christian Nørgaard joins Everton
Nørgaard has signed for Everton for a reported fee of £7million after the Toffees reached an agreement with Arsenal for his transfer last week.
David Ornstein broke the news on Saturday that the Gunners had agreed to sell the Dane to David Moyes' side, with the player expected to undergo a medical in the following days.
His move is now all confirmed and it brings an end to his one-year spell with Arsenal that saw him win the Premier League and reach the finals of the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
He joined Mikel Arteta's side as experienced midfield reinforcements from Brentford for a £10m fee, potentially rising to £12m with add-ons, but he struggled for regular game time in North London with his manager appearing to show a reluctance to bring him on in high-stakes matches.
Nørgaard made just 20 appearances during the 2025/26 season, with his seven in the Premier League enough to earn him a winners' medal at the end of the campaign.
His matches played totalled to just 1040 minutes across four competitions as Arteta opted to rely on him in games against weaker opposition or as a late substitute when results were already wrapped up and secured.
With Declan Rice, Martín Zubimendi and Myles Lewis-Skelly a class above their Danish counterpart, it's unsurprising the Spaniard felt this way, but when he needed to, Nørgaard did his job and contributed when he was on the pitch.
The Dane's departure likely comes in line with Bruno Guimarães' impending move to Arsenal with the Brazilian set to replace Nørgaard as an option of higher quality and one that is more capable of standing in for the likes of Rice and Zubimendi.
Nørgaard's career as a Gunner comes to a close after a short period, but while his impact at the Emirates Stadium was minimal, he will go down in history as part of an elite group of players who have managed to get their hands on a Premier League title.
