Talk of Arsenal's interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has gone quiet over the past week, but he remains a primary target for the club, according to multiple reports.

The Gunners have explored a deal for Chelsea's Noni Madueke over recent days, recently submitting an official bid, and that has sparked concern among fans that the club are no longer interested in pursuing a move for Eze.

Supporters have been reassured however, with a number of outlets revealing Eze is still a target for Arsenal despite their ongoing attempts to sign Madueke.

Eberechi Eze remains a primary target for Arsenal

Most fans would have preferred a move for Eze as opposed to Madueke, but it would seem they could be completely separate deals.

Arsenal see Palace's FA Cup winner as a number 10 option who is also capable of playing out wide while many have perceived his Chelsea counterpart to be brought in as a primary backup to Bukayo Saka.

The Guardian have reported the Gunners' interest in Eze is not expected to end based on a move for Madueke so they are continuing internal discussions as they head toward the next steps.

After their initial concerns, fans will be very pleased to see this news. Madueke's potential arrival at Arsenal would be welcomed a lot more if the club can also bring in Eze and other targets alongside him.

It does remain to be seen though. It's all well and good reading these reports, but with the Gunners also wanting a striker and a defender, they could be forced to sell a player to fund a move for Eze. Regardless, the main point for now is that they do still want the Palace star despite exploring a deal for Madueke. There is no denying that he would be a brilliant signing for the club as he would seriously raise the levels in squad depth and ability.
