Arsenal are now six points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and fans would not have it any other way.
After a blip in the middle of their season, they are now looking like the Arsenal that started the season off with one win after another, as they have made up the initial gap between them and Manchester City once again, after their rival's draw on the weekend.
Superstar midfielder Declan Rice was a big reason why The Gunners were able to extend that four-point gap to six points, because it was his brace that secured them the win over Bournemouth.
Declan Rice explains what defenders already know about Viktor Gyökeres
Rice, after the game, was asked about their striker and new signing Viktor Gyokeres, and he talked about what the player provides to this Arsenal side.
Rice's words were bright and supportive, and even surprised a lot of people, but only for the right reasons.
He said: “It's tough for him, because he's got two defenders on him all game, all over him. So he has to use his strength, he has to do all he can to help the team and with that goal, without him making that run from Gabi's flick and holding it, setting it off to Martin, that goal wouldn't happen.
“That was a pivotal moment in the game for us to turn the game on its head. I see how hard he hits a ball, and when that space arrives for him and the ball's arriving at his feet to score goals, he will 100% score.
“But at the minute, defenders in the Premier League want to be able to stop Viktor Gyokeres, because he's one of the best strikers in the world. Trust me, he's doing unbelievably for us, we wouldn't be where we are without him.”
That should give fans exactly what they need to know. And that also gives the defenders facing Arsenal on a weekly basis what they already have seen first hand.
If Gyokeres is not the one scoring goals and grabbing headlines, he is still involved in the build-up play, doing the dirty work.
Gyokeres' passing has improved, and he is the one who attracts and bodies so many defenders all around him. That is what creates space for his teammates to shoot and score loads of goals, and Rice was sure to highlight just that.
Gyokeres would obviously want to get on the scoresheet more often, and that will start happening soon, but it absolutely does not mean that he is not contributing to their wins.
