Arsenal superstar Declan Rice revealed what Mikel Arteta has done to make sure that the team's mentality is a bit different from what it used to be.
Arsenal, at the moment, are in the best position they have ever been. They are the leaders in the league, and after the win over Brighton, their lead has been stretched to four points.
They are also seeing a fairly comfortable path to the Champions League semi-finals, but they face Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16.
They are also in the final of the Carabao Cup, and play their game in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday with hopes of making the quarter-finals, up against Mansfield Town.
So, things are looking good. Not just in the Premier League - where they have improved considerably since last season - but they are also dominant in other competitions, particularly in the league phase of the Champions League, where they looked really good in all their games (or wins).
Rice was asked about what has changed, and the answer that he gave was really, really detailed and intricate about the things that Arteta expects of them, as well as what has changed among the group as well.
Declan Rice reveals why the Arsenal mentality is different this year
He said: "We're representing Arsenal, for one. We need to be on it every single day. You're reminded of that as soon as you walk through the door with our manager as well. The demands he sets on us as players this season have been really good because he's let the players have more ownership.
"More players take a leadership role, which has been really good. More voices. That's where we've sorted problems out that we haven't thought would go well.
"So yeah, I think there are so many different things, but I've really seen us evolve this year as a group in terms of leadership, you know, showing real character."
That is essentially what is expected from players like Rice at clubs like Arsenal. They need to be vocal on as well as off the pitch, and it is clear that what Arteta has given them in terms of leadership is clearly working.
Arsenal, even when they falter, look to dig deep and find answers to these problems, and come out on top more often than not.
Before this season, it was the case of Arsenal's mentality just not being there, but this season, fans have seen - at least to an extent - different versions of many players, which will help the group in the long run.
