Were Arsenal's eyes fully on the ball against Crystal Palace?
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side has been in a tough position from a mentality standpoint over the past month with the club's title challenge over, yet Champions League remains very much within reach.
This first played out after the Gunners swept through Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at the Emirates.
With such a big lead, the Gunners had a decision to make against Brentford a couple of days later in the league. The second leg was a few days after Brentford, so Arteta decided to swing the changes and Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jurrien Timber, and Mikel Merino were all sent to the bench.
That was the first indication that Arsenal's priorities weren't domestically anymore, and in truth, there's nothing wrong with that.
Then the Gunners got past Madrid, and now face PSG next week in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace saw the Gunners twice be pegged back by the visitors in what was a poor defensive performance, but with PSG on the horizon just six days after the Palace clash, maybe the minds of the players were drifting forward.
Did Arsenal get caught looking too far ahead vs. Palace?
Granted, this is purely speculative, but players are human and given the gravity of the game that is coming up, it is possible they took their eye off the prize against Palace.
"Hopefully not, but we discussed that before Ipswich, and it wasn't there," Arteta said via arsenal.com.

There is merit to that thought from Arteta.
The Gunners swept aside Ipswich 4-0, but given that now the team is into the semi-finals of the Champions League, maybe that carries more weight.
Either way, the draw wasn't the best performance from the Gunners, and the defensive lapses are something that Arteta will want ironed out before PSG comes to town. Do that against the French champs, and the first leg will be a demolition job.
The mental gymnastics the Gunners have performed over the past three weeks has been nothing short of impressive, but with top four not sorted yet either, the last thing Arteta wants is to slip out of the top four.
Hence, why the Gunners must win all of their remaining games and keep their eye on the Champions League, too.
No looking forward anymore.
