Even Jack Wilshere is refreshing the news for Vinícius Júnior to Arsenal

Former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere is doing what every single Arsenal fan is doing on their phone: checking for any big update on the club's pursuit of Vinícius Júnior these days.

Wilshere, who currently is the manager of Luton Town, was asked about all things Arsenal. The conversation went from talking about Bruno Guimarães to Vinícius Júnior, and his quote about the latter was very interesting to read.

He talked about how Arsenal would be making a huge statement if they managed to complete the signing of the Brazilian superstar.

He said: "Yeah, it would. And yeah, I’m like everyone else. I keep reading it and seeing if it’s getting closer. And it would definitely be a statement. It would be a statement from Mikel and from the club that they won the league last year and they’re not resting on that.

"They want to go again, they want to improve - of course on the pitch, but obviously the commercial side as well with signing someone like that. So yeah, it’ll be interesting to see how that one plays out.”

Vinícius Júnior will help Arsenal in a lot more ways than one

You can have your opinion on it. You can think about whether it is going to happen or not. But you also have to agree that Wilshere is absolutely spot on with what he said.

Can you imagine a club that has just won the Premier League going on to sign a player who probably should have won the Ballon d'Or in 2024 and was still one of the best players in the world over the next two years?

That alone is a statement in itself. Even though they've won everything, even though they've won the Premier League, they want to win more trophies like the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.

Arsenal are the only stable top club in the Premier League right now

All of that is really important for Arsenal because, at the moment, there is no team that is better equipped to challenge on all of those fronts in England.

Manchester City are going to be under new management with Enzo Maresca, potentially losing Rodri. They've already lost a couple of key players in the dressing room as well, like John Stones and Bernardo Silva.

Liverpool have still yet to announce a signing that would really replace the departed Mohamed Salah.

Chelsea also have a new manager, and their team doesn't look as convincing as a genuine title contender would.

Tottenham have made signings, but I don't think a jump from being 17th to being Premier League title contenders is really on the cards for them this season.

Manchester United will have European football to think about as well, so they'll probably have a lot to deal with in that sense too.

That leaves Arsenal as the only stable top Premier League team at the moment. This is really a good chance for Arsenal to build a dynasty both in the Premier League and in Europe.

For that to happen, they need the best players, and one of the best players in the world, someone who has won the Champions League twice and has a knack for playing incredibly well in the biggest games, is Vinícius Júnior.

They must do everything they can to get the Brazilian's signature.
