Kepa Arrizabalaga has now officially signed for Arsenal and in doing so, he has become the seventh goalkeeper to join the club during Mikel Arteta's tenure.
Bernd Leno was the number one option when the Spaniard was appointed as Gunners boss, but a number of signings have seen drastic changes be made to the shotstopping setup over the past six years.
That hasn't come without criticism however, with seven goalkeepers being brought to Arsenal in six years being deemed as far too many by fans despite Kepa being brought in as a mere backup. Some of his predecessors have been successful, others have not, so here is how Arteta's goalkeeper signings for the Gunners have ranked.
Every Arsenal goalkeeper signing under Mikel Arteta - ranked
6. Alex Runarsson

Alex Runarsson was Mikel Arteta's first goalkeeper signing at Arsenal and was brought to north London as a bright prospect from Ligue 1 side Dijon for £1million in 2020.
Operating as a backup to Bernd Leno, his initial performances looked positive. He kept clean sheets in his first two appearances, Europa League wins against Dundalk and Molde, but made several mistakes in a 4-1 League Cup defeat to Manchester City.
The Iceland international played just one more game for the Gunners, coming on for the final minutes of a 2-1 loss to Wolves after Leno had been sent off. He then had successive loan moves away from north London before seeing his contract terminated in February 2024.
5. Neto

Following the departure of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton last summer, Arsenal found themselves in need of a new backup 'keeper so they completed a loan move for Bournemouth's Neto.
On the surface, it seemed like a good deal, but then you realise he was already cup-tied for the one competition he would have played in - the Carabao Cup.
Given he was unavailable for the cup, he didn't make his Gunners debut until an effective dead-rubber Champions League tie against Girona. That was disastrous to say the least. He rushed out of his box and dived to try stop Arnaut Danjuma's opener, a bizarre choice by a seasoned shotstopper.
Arsenal did come from behind to win, but that was the only game Neto played before the end of his loan, leaving behind a forgettable legacy.
4. Mat Ryan

A loan signing out of nowhere, Mat Ryan joined Arsenal from Brighton for the second part of the 2020/21 season, but didn't get too many chances.
He made his debut when he stood in for the suspended Bernd Leno in a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, but had to wait two months for his next appearance. Against Fulham, Ryan failed to keep out Josh Maja's penalty, but after coming up for a corner in stoppage time, played a part in Eddie Nketiah's equaliser as the Gunners salvaged a 1-1 draw.
The Australia captain managed to keep a clean sheet in his final game for Arsenal, a 2-0 win away to Newcastle United, before returning to Brighton at the end of the season.
3. Matt Turner

Signed from New England Revolution for $6million, Matt Turner spent just a sole season at Arsenal.
He made his debut in a 2-1 win over Zurich in the opening game of the Europa League group stage, but did look shaky at times. He kept a clean sheet in his next three appearances, but his minutes dipped in the second half of the season.
An FA Cup defeat to Manchester City and a 2-2 draw away to Sporting were the conclusion to his Gunners career. The following summer, he left the club for Nottingham Forest for a £10m fee.
2. Aaron Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale signed for Arsenal from Sheffield United as an initial backup, but displaced Bernd Leno within a few games of the season starting.
He instantly became a fan favourite and was a key part in his side's battle for Champions League football that campaign as well as in the next season's title race.
However, his performances were inconsistent and after a number of mistakes, he suffered the same fate as his predecessor when he was replaced by David Raya. It was hard to see such a lovable character lose his spot, but looking back it was the right choice.
1. David Raya

Wanting away from Brentford, David Raya joined Arsenal on loan in the summer of 2023. He was on the bench for the opening games, but soon took Ramsdale's spot as the number one choice.
He was a key component in his side's title charge as they took Manchester City to the final day of the season and won the league's Golden Glove award after keeping 16 clean sheets.
After joining the Gunners on a permanent deal, Raya won the award for the second consecutive campaign, managing 13 shutouts, but his side failing to mount the same challenge as the previous season. He has recently been given the number one shirt so is likely to be Mikel Arteta's top choice for the foreseeable future.
