As the World Cup enters the quarter-final stage on Thursday, Arsenal still have 10 players involved in the tournament looking to get their hands on football's biggest prize.

France and Morocco kick off the last-eight fixtures tomorrow with just one of the games in this round not featuring a representative from the red half of North London, Argentina's clash with Switzerland. Of the eight countries still fighting for the ultimate piece of football silverware, five have at least member of the Gunners setup in their squad.

Some of these players have a great chance of ending the tournament as a world champion while others don't. Here's our ranking of every Arsenal player's chances of winning the World Cup from least likely to most.

5. Leandro Trossard (Belgium)

As he closes in on a move away from Arsenal, Leandro Trossard is putting in his all for Belgium as they look to go all the way on the world stage this summer, but their chances are pretty slim.

The Red Devils' number 10 has been crucial in their campaign so far, scoring twice and providing three assists in 5 games to help his nation top their group and overcome Senegal and the USA in the knockout stage.

However, Belgium take on Spain next and they will have an incredibly tough task of overcoming the European champions. Even if they are to do so, they will then have to face the powerhouse of France or tournament surprises Morocco in the semi-finals, diminishing their hopes even further.

4. Martin Ødegaard (Norway)

Martin Ødegaard has captained Norway to their best ever result at a World Cup, having helped his side reach the quarter-finals with a shock 2-1 win over five-time champions Brazil in the last round, but most will feel the last-eight will be the end of the road for the Vikings.

The Arsenal skipper will lead his side out against an England side that conquered Mexico at the mighty Azteca in the round of 16 and while Norway have already shown they are more than capable of an upset, they will struggle to get past the Three Lions.

With the mighty force of Erling Haaland in attack, nothing is a given, but Ødegaard and Norway may have to prepare themselves for an exit as a difficult path to the final means they are unlikely to be lifting the trophy on 19 July.

3. Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke & Eberechi Eze (England)

The 3-2 win over Mexico has got England fans that slightly bit more confident that their nation will end 60 years of hurt by lifting the World Cup for just the second ever time with Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze among the players looking to help the Three Lions do that.

Despite genuine chances of an upset, Thomas Tuchel's side should overcome Norway in the quarter-finals, but their real challenge will await in the last-four when they will likely take on reigning world champions Argentina.

If England do overcome Argentina, their likely final opponents would be France or Spain, both of whom they have been defeated by in their last two major tournaments.

The whole nation is behind the Three Lions and the Arsenal representatives, but their potential opponents in the late stages may have just a bit too much class for them.

2. Mikel Merino, Martín Zubimendi & David Raya (Spain)

Spain were my initial favourites before the tournament began and they still have a great chance of winning it despite not looking as strong as they previously have.

Arsenal's makeshift striker Mikel Merino was their hero as he scored a late winner in a 1-0 win over Portugal in the round of 16 while Martín Zubimendi and David Raya are yet to play a single minute in North America.

La Roja take on Belgium in the quarter-finals, a tie they should be victorious in, before facing either France or Morocco in the last-four. Spain should fancy their chances of beating either of those, but one team's hopes of winning the tournament are perhaps slightly stronger.

1. William Saliba (France)

In 1998, France won their first World Cup title with a squad featuring then Arsenal players Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit and the headlines across England were 'Arsenal win the World Cup'. William Saliba is now looking to follow in the footsteps of his compatriots.

The defender has been a crucial part of Les Bleus' run to the quarter-finals, playing 90 minutes in all but one of his side's games so far, sitting out the 4-1 win over Norway to rest.

Saliba will be readying himself for Thursday's clash with Morocco as he looks to help his country reach the semi-finals for the third consecutive tournament.

France will likely be favourites to overcome Spain or Belgium in the last-four before potentially facing Argentina in the final, a repeat of the 3-3 thriller four years ago.

While the world champions will be tough to beat, Saliba has the greatest chance of being victorious among each of his teammates.
