Mikel Arteta has gained a new hater lately in Fabian Hürzeler. As hilarious as it is, the reason why Mikel Arteta is accruing a list of people praying for his downfall is so obvious it hurts. Some people can only kick down, not up.
Speaking after the match against Arsenal, Hürzeler whined, yet again, about Mikel Arteta. The losing manager, who certainly resembled a loser in his attitude, said "I have the feeling they are doing their own rules no matter how they are playing so that’s why I think it’s difficult to judge that."
He then added: "Overall, like I said, I will never be that kind of manager who tries to win in that way. I ask one question. Did you see in a Premier League game a goalkeeper going down three times? No? We need to find a way to find solutions against these kind of teams and that’s our responsibility so we have to keep working."
Hilariously, there was some level of self-awareness after the fact of the matter. Hürzeler concluded with the most ironic statement of all-time: "Complaining doesn’t help so that’s why focus is on us."
Not only did Hürzeler complain, but he also took all of the focus away from his team in this weird, unnecessary monologue. It's almost like the ocean being wet, and then saying life is about being dry.
The painfully obvious (and hilarious) reason why Fabian Hürzeler dislikes Mikel Arteta
We all know the painfully obvious reason why Fabian Hürzeler couldn't help but have a whinge. It's because Arsenal are top of the Premier League table, and last night, they moved one step closer to winning the Premier League title.
Honestly, I don't remember the last time a team won a trophy by playing beautiful, intricate football. There's a reason why coaches who put too much emphasis on being unique in their tactical setup rarely win anything. Winning is as much about strategy as it is about skill.
Arsenal tried playing football the beautiful way, and it got them nowhere. In the latter stage of the Arsene Wenger era, the Gunners played some of the most attractive football the Premier League has ever seen. That Jack Wilshere goal (you know the one) is often hailed as one of the best goals the best league in the world has ever seen. Beautiful football doesn't win you titles.
Let's not forget that the Arsenal Invincibles were not always an attractive team to watch. Sometimes, they were dire to watch, and they were met with some of the same criticism this current Arteta team is facing. Yet, fast forward over two decades, their record has not been matched. The Invincibles dared to be disliked, and they are forever written in history because of it.
Truth be told, this is the best Arsenal team since the Invincibles. Arteta himself is daring to be disliked, and if Arsenal win a Premier League trophy because of it, nobody is going to remember Fabian Hürzeler's meaningless attempt to save the art of football.
Pioneers are rebelled against until they're copied. The obsession is a compliment to Mikel Arteta.
