Fabrizio Romano has dropped a subtle social media update regarding Arsenal's pursuit of a striker, specifically Benjamin Sesko.

The transfer guru notified fans via X (Twitter) that the Slovenian has now followed the Gunners' official Instagram account, hinting that progress could be being made in their hunt for a new goalscorer.

Talks between Arsenal and Sesko were reported to have hit a snag due to financial demands, but this small hint may mean discussions are now back underway.

Okay, reporting on such a small thing may appear as 'copium' at a time where Arsenal's hunt for a striker has hit a bump in the road, but there could be some genuine depth to this.

In an age where social media plays a great part in everyone's lives, footballers have often used it as a platform to hint at their transfer demands. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is one of many to do so, posting an Instagram story with the caption 'All I wanna do is go where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna play' accompanied with crying emojis and tagging Arsenal's account in the final days of the 2021 summer window.

Such attempts have been successful, whereas others haven't, but nevertheless it's clear what Sesko is trying to signal by doing this. Previous reports have suggested his wage demands have frustrated the Gunners while the club are also discouraged by the fee RB Leipzig want.

By following his potential new club on social media, Sesko could be hinting that he wants the move despite the current negotiation struggles and also may be prompting Leipzig to allow him to leave the club.

It is of course important not to read too much into this, but Arsenal fans can get a little bit excited. Sesko clearly still wants to join the Gunners and his subtle social media hint could be a call to get the ball back rolling in negotiations.

Regardless, can Arsenal please just sign a striker?!
