Arsenal fans will already be getting excited for their club's summer business following an update from Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners don't have too much business to take care of this summer, given the standard of their squad, coming off the back of a Premier League title and almost a Champions League title to go with it.
But there are a couple of areas Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta need to address, and one of them is the left wing spot. Leandro Trossard did a sterling job in the season just gone, but there is a feeling that he and Gabriel Martinelli are not able to offer the elite edge Arteta wants on the left side.
Bradley Barcola could be the answer
Arsenal have already been linked with a few left wingers this summer as they look to address that part of the pitch, including AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
But a fresh option to be touted is PSG star Bradley Barcola, who could be on the lookout for a new club this summer. The 23-year-old Frenchman is still only 23, and he is a high-quality player.
He scored 13 and provided seven assists during the season just gone. But it is no secret that he is largely stuck behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia when it comes to playing his favourite position. Fortunately for Barcola, he is able to play pretty much anywhere on the front line, which has helped him.
But that left wing spot is taken by arguably the world's best player based on current form, and so it's unlikely regular starts there are forthcoming.
Fabrizio Romano has now claimed on X: "Movements are expected around Bradley Barcola this summer as reported in May with Arsenal, Liverpool and one more club keen on PSG winger. Despite fake reports around, the agent of Barcola is Moussa Sissoko already since 2025."
That will get the blood flowing for Arsenal fans who want to see that left side occupied by a top-class player going into next season. Trossard did very well there this season, but the Gunners need to terrify teams on both sides of the attack, and they don't have a left-sided player who is able to do that.
Playing against teams like PSG, it's easy to see the problems it gives a defence to have to worry about all three players on an attacking line, and Arteta will envy that. Barcola can offer that, and he is certainly a better option than the aforementioned Leao.
