Former Arsenal target, Dusan Vlahovic, may well become available on a free transfer this summer. The Serbian striker is reportedly poised to strike a deal with Juventus to terminate his contract.
The news has alerted Arsenal, to whom the player was heavily linked in 2022. Instead, Vlahovic joined Juventus but has been linked with a move to England ever since.
Vlahovic will not consider a contract extension at Juventus
Now, Vlahovic is reportedly refusing to consider a contract extension with Juventus, who want to spread out payment of his salary over a longer period. The Serb has 12 months left to run on his contract.
The player has reportedly threatened to sit-out the entire 2025-26 campaign in order to be paid his £10.3 million salary.
It is widely assumed that the Italian giants will make the 25-year-old Serb an offer to tear up the contract, potentially leaving the player available to move on a free transfer.
The 6'3'' Serb has made no secret of his desire to play in England and both Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked in the past.
The Serb is not in Igor Tudor's plans for next season
Vlahovic is not in Juventus Head Coach, Igor Tudor's plans for the 2025/26 season despite being one of Serie A's highest paid players. However, the Serb is not prepared to take a pay cut and is now looking to bank the entirety of his remaining salary.
Yet, Vlahovic has been in excellent form for Juventus. According to fotmob.com, his expected goals xG per game is 0.62 placing him in the top 94% of strikers in Serie A. His goal ratio is a little lower than his xG but one goal in every two games (on average) is good enough for any club in Europe.

Arsenal would face strong competition for Vlahovic's signature
Arsenal would face strong competition for Vlahovic's signature should they choose to act on developments in Italy. Manchester United are currently on the hunt for a striker with Victor Osimhen being linked among others.
The absence of a transfer fee and his immediate availability could appeal to both clubs, although Arsenal may be a little more cautious than United when it comes to meeting the player's wage demands.
Although Arsenal will remain confident that they can get a deal over the line for Gyokeres, it is good to know that other options do, and will always, exist.
