A monumental summer beckons for Arsenal as they aim to evolve from nearly-men to champions next season.
It's been a tale of coming ever so close for Mikel Arteta in north London, and there were expectations in pre-season last summer that 2024/25 would finally be the Gunners' year.
However, due to an array of factors, it wasn't to be. Now, there's a sense of make-or-break for the project in 2025/26. The extent of the pressure placed on Arteta's shoulders will be decided by the club's work in the transfer market. We all expect a spending spree, with a couple of key additions required to thrust Arsenal over the line.
We're bound to be protagonists in rumour mills across the continent over the next few months, and here's a full summary of Arsenal's 2025 summer window transfer targets.
Arsenal 2025 summer window transfer targets

Goalkeepers & Defenders
Arsenal tried to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia last summer after the inexperienced Spaniard helped the Catalonians return to La Liga, but the club was unwilling to pay his €25m release clause. After Aaron Ramsdale departed for Southampton, Edu Gaspar pivoted to Neto, who joined on loan.
Veteran Neto will return to Bournemouth, leaving Arsenal in need of a new number two. They opted for a stop-gap last summer but will likely target a long-term David Raya alternative this time around. Garcia remains of interest and his €25m release clause is still in play. However, the club would be wise to move swiftly if they're intent on bringing the talented Spaniard in. Competitors will circle.
A summer window rarely passes by without Arteta bringing in another defender, and the potential departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko once Kieran Tierney's return to Celtic is confirmed means the club could bring in another body.
The boss loves versatility, and centre-back/left-back Jorrel Hato has been a name of intrigue in the past. There had also been links to Premier League breakout star Dean Huijsen before Real Madrid struck a deal.
I don't expect a high-profile defensive arrival given Jakub Kiwior's form down the stretch. Takehiro Tomiyasu will also be returning from injury in the summer after barely featuring in 2024/25.
Midfielders

Martin Zubimendi is expected to join the club as a Jorginho replacement, but the club may have to move for another midfielder should they fail to reach an agreement with Thomas Partey over a contract extension.
There haven't been all that many links to potential Partey replacements, although Lucien Agoume is a name that has done a few rounds throughout the season. Agoume has impressed for a poor Sevilla team this season.
We've seen Manchester City and Liverpool test the waters for fresh creatives in the middle of the park, but Arsenal won't get involved in the Florian Wirtz sweepstakes. RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons has been linked in the past and is expected to move on this summer, but the Gunners are unlikely to commit a chunk of their summer kitty on another playmaker given Ethan Nwaneri's potential.
Wingers

Okay, now we're getting into the good stuff. Arsenal's attacking revolution consisted of Raheem Sterling and Raheem Sterling only last summer, and the English winger has proven to be a woeful bit of business.
Once again, Arsenal could do with superior cover for Bukayo Saka and an upgrade in quality down the left. I'd be considering offers for either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard this summer.
Leroy Sane could be available on a free transfer with his contract situation at Bayern Munich still unresolved. Arsenal are interested, and Arteta could reunite with the man he supposedly worked wonders with at Manchester City all those years ago.
Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo, and Anthony Gordon are targets with Premier League experience, while Nico Williams is set to have his fair share of clubs after him this summer. Barcelona are out of the race, but Real Madrid could get involved if Rodrygo departs. There have been tenuous links to the Brazilian, with the finances involved surely too great.
Another optimistic but ambitious target is Milan's Rafael Leao. Ademola Lookman is also on the hunt for a new challenge after starring for Atalanta, and Jamie Gittens is set to be the next Englishman to earn Borussia Dortmund a big fee. Arsenal are reportedly battling Chelsea for the young winger's signature.
Strikers

This is the one Arsenal can't get wrong. While the club's issues this term can't solely be attributed to the lack of a clinical edge, there's no denying that the Gunners would've been in a far better place had they had a reliable goalscorer in their ranks.
Arteta is picky when it comes to centre-forwards and is seemingly more willing to convert those he trusts into the striker he requires as opposed to bringing in the ready-made thing.
New sporting director Andrea Berta is hard at work attempting to sign the ideal profile. Arteta craves a big body; a striker physically capable of outduelling defenders and bringing others to play to contribute to the collective. He wants a selfless centre-forward, but, ideally, one who also knows where the goal is.
It seems like Berta is taking a scattergun approach to his striker search, with a whole host of options considered. Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are believed to be at the forefront of the club's thinking, but we know that the seemingly unattainable Alexander Isak is the utopia. Arsenal will surely test those waters if Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Liam Delap has been linked elsewhere but not so strongly to the Gunners and the same goes for Victor Osimhen, who wants a lot of money. There was a lame attempt to sing Ollie Watkins in January, and he'd be an excellent fallback option.
