Ethan Nwaneri (RW) - 8.5/10 - Caused plenty of problems down the right wing with his dribbling and pace making him hard to stop. Cut inside and curled a brilliant effort into the far corner to put his side ahead in the first half. Continued to trouble the Girona backline before being taken off late in the second 45.

Leandro Trossard (ST) - 7/10 - Showed a sense of urgency when on the ball and also made a number of good runs. Assisted Nwaneri for the second goal before he almost made it three for his side when he hit the crossbar from a tight angle. Taken off with 20 minutes remaining.

Raheem Sterling (LW) - 6.5/10 - Caused some issues on the left side before switching out to the right late on. Won a number of duels in what was a bright overall showing. Presented the chance to score from the spot in stoppage time but saw his effort saved by Lopez.
