Gyokeres: rising form or false dawn? Breaking down this week's stats

Of Gyokeres' six touches inside the penalty box, five of them were made to the left of the penalty spot. At Old Trafford, Gyokeres found himself out on the right wing at times and his touches inside the box were on both sides.

There are few differences between Gyokeres' heatmap at Old Trafford and the one at The Emirates against Leeds on Saturday. There are plenty of examples of Gyokeres dropping closer to the half-way line to link up play but mostly his touches are central and to the left in the penalty area. Arsenal certainly played to that strength with Declan Rice encouraged to fill the inside left attacking area at every opportunity.

As time goes on, it will be interesting to compare Gyokeres' heatmap to see if he works along the front line or operates only centrally.
