Arsenal face a familiar foe on Wednesday night. The Gunners face off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and their talisman striker will walk the grass of the Emirates once again.
The former Tottenham man knows all too well about how it is to play against Arsenal at the Emirates, and since leaving Tottenham in 2023, this would be the second time the player comes back to London to face off against his former team's biggest rivals.
Kane has been enjoying a career-best start to his season, scoring goals and getting assists for fun as Bayern have now become a top three contender for the Champions League this season.
They beat one of the other main contenders - holders Paris Saint-Germain - and now face a stern test in Arsenal, in a huge, huge battle of the best attack against the best defense in the world.
All eyes will be on how Kane handles the situation and whether he is able to hurt Arsenal again, but Arsenal will come prepared. This is going to be a battle for the ages, and fans cannot wait.
Harry Kane says Arsenal are more solid than they were in 2024
Kane was in the press room on Tuesday when he was asked about Arsenal's improvements since 2024, and how much of that will come into effect on Wednesday night.
He said: “They've become more solid, they have more experience but they play similarly to how they did back then. Defensively, their structure is better. They've gained experience in the Champions League, which has made them better and helped them grow.
“That's why they're in the position they're in right now. It will be a good test for us tomorrow. Two of the best teams in the world will be going at each other, and we're looking forward to this game. It will be a good opportunity to test ourselves.”
Kane is absolutely spot on. Arsenal have become more sound defensively in a strictly structural sense. Well, they are better in every aspect defensively than they were when the two teams last faced off against each other in 2024, and they have added a few players where they needed recruitments as well.
Their ball progression in that season was really bad, and they have added Martin Zubimendi, who will help a lot in that sense. They have added a striker in Victor Gyokeres - although it is worth finding out whether he actually plays on the night - and they have also secured the signings of a number of quality central defenders to provide support to Gabriel and William Saliba.
In short, Kane is obviously dangerous, but even he is admitting the truth. Arsenal do look better than they have in recent years, and this will be an incredible game.
