Arsenal lacks forward options, and its attacking play is suffering, but how can it overcome the mental hurdles that now accompany knowing how crucial it is to take even one chance?

It is tough sledding for Arsenal right now with the injuries to the club's attacking stars now being the main reason the club has seen the title race be over even with 11 league games left.

Mikel Arteta has been forced to shuffle the magnets in an attempt to get something cooking up top, and in the last two games, the club has struggled mightily to find genuine goal-scoring chances, and has dropped points because of it.

Such has been the club's crippling injury list, it has meant the goal-scoring burden has fallen on Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling, and in the last two games, all have failed to really take a hold of the contest.

How can Arsenal overcome mental block in front of goal?

With the Gunners constantly not getting the job done up front, and when chances do come their way, they aren't taken, it puts even more pressure on the next player with a chance to score, and so on and so forth.

That isn't a healthy way to live in the Premier League, and now with 11 games left, it is going to be interesting to see how the players approach them along with the Champions League contest with PSV.

So, how can they keep the positive moral up?

"It’s about what we can do, and it was like this a week ago, two weeks before, three months ago," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "That’s the only thing that we can control if we want to have a reach chance to do anything.”

With so many games left and the title out of reach, barring something catastrophic happening to Liverpool and something otherworldly happening to Arsenal, mentally, that is a tough place to be.

But that is exactly where Arsenal finds itself, and with no game at the weekend and then PSV in the Champions League midweek, the Gunners have more time to try and figure out a solution to this goal-scoring issue.

Is there confidence that the Gunners can somehow work something out and finish the season in a positive way? Right now, no, but as we know with football, all it takes is one result to get the belief back.

Will that happen against PSV? Color us skeptical.
