Arsenal have a 1-0 deficit to overturn against PSG, but can Mikel Arteta's side do it?

Here we are. The defining match in Arsenal's season, and maybe the biggest game in Mikel Arteta's tenure as manager.

The second leg against PSG in the Champions League semi-finals requires the Gunners to overturn a 1-0 deficit after last week's defeat at the Emirates, and it looms as a tall order for the Gunners.

That doesn't mean it can't be done, and let's not forget how many wasted chances Arsenal had in the first leg (PSG too), so the Gunners could easily score two or three goals (again, PSG too) to turn this tie around.

But the Gunners certainly can't afford to start slow again. No 20 minutes to get into the game like the first leg. It has to be from the first whistle, even if Arsenal immediately after to weather an early Parisian storm. Fight fire with fire.

Granted, that is easier said than done, but Arsenal are more than capable of doing that. Thomas Partey is expected to be back, which allows Declan Rice to advance forward to be at his damaging best. The Englishman is the man capable of inspiring the Gunners in Paris with his leadership and capacity to embark on lung-busting runs from midfield.

Putting it simply, score more goals, right?

Now, it is more complicated than that, but the Gunners need to play with the freedom as they did against Real Madrid and go for the throat. Granted, PSG possesses the attacking weapons to score quickly so the defensive door must be shut.

Or simply do as they did in the first leg.

"Again, a lot of the things that we did in the first game, better, more consistently," Arteta said via arsenal.com on how the team can overturn the first-leg loss. "If we do that, the probability for success will be very, very close to us. We are more than capable, we've done it in Europe against a lot of odds, probably nobody would say that we'll be in this position. So that was against history as well. So, let's make our own history."

In an ideal situation, the Gunners start well, and score an early goal to get themselves into the game, and to get the tie on level terms.

Easier said than done. But Arsenal showed in the first leg it is capable of causing PSG problems, it just has to make sure the defense is rock-solid otherwise the hosts might put this game out of reach rather quickly.

Be compact, score early and take it to the French champs. That is how the Gunners can overturn this 1-0 deficit.

Let's see if they can do it.
