Arsenal's ongoing number nine dilemma seems to be this never-ending cycle of the Gunners being 'a striker away' from having a complete and dominant squad. The Gunners solved the question before last season by signing Viktor Gyokeres, but that solution has become ineffective.

During the summer transfer window, Arsenal were heavily linked with Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, but they failed to land a deal for him. The Argentine now seems to have his sights set on Barcelona, so Arsenal will have to consider alternative options.

The argument that the Gunners actually NEED a striker does carry a lot of weight. Gyokeres' form early this season has been poor, and he's adopted more of a backup role to Kai Havertz. Speaking of Havertz, the German international is not a natural number nine, and he's already shown this season that his precarious injury history can always come back to bite.

Christos Tzolis could help Arsenal find a solution

The Gunners are always linked to several top European strikers in the newspapers, and a lot of the time, there doesn't seem to be any merit to it. However, there was a name that stood out this week, as, according to the Sun, Arsenal are considering a January move for Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi.

The 22-year-old, who originally came through the ranks at German side Hannover, has been tearing it up for Brugge this season. He's scored nine goals in 12 appearances in all competitions, including a hat-trick last week in the Champions League against Inter Milan, helping Brugge to a surprising 4-3 victory.

Tresoldi's price is estimated to be over £40m according to the report, after Club Brugge rejected a £30m bid from Serie A side Roma in August. But for Arsenal, they'll easily be able to afford the 22-year-old, so it's just about convincing him to come to the Emirates.

That's where Christos Tzolis comes in. The Gunners signed Tzolis from Club Brugge in the summer for a fee of £35m, and he's had a slow start at best, but he's the long-term replacement for Leandro Trossard. Tzolis and Tresoldi played together at Brugge last season, when Tresoldi netted 23 goals, and Tzolis provided 29 assists.

Considering the pair worked so well together last year, the fact that Tzolis is at Arsenal could be more than enough to further convince Tresoldi that coming to North London is the right move, and maybe Arsenal would finally solve their striker conundrum.
