Arsenal brushed aside Ipswich Town to consolidate its position in the top four.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side made light work of Ipswich Town to the tune of a 4-0 win as the Gunners barely got out of second gear on what was a delightful afternoon.

Leandro Trossard got the scoring started after just 13 minutes to put the hosts on the back foot before 15 minutes later, Gabriel Martinelli doubled Arsenal's lead as Arteta's side was already in cruise control.

Second half goals from Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri rounded out what was a rather easy afternoon for the Gunners as they avoided a potential banana skin game and dealt with Ipswich rather easily.

The win sees Arsenal move seven points clear of Newcastle in third and eight ahead of Manchester City as the race for the top four feels like the Gunners will be a part of Europe next season.

Trossard hitting form

The Belgian has often been seen as a "super sub" given his ability to score off the bench, and often struggling when starting.

But his brace against Ipswich has now made it three goals in three league games as he is starting to hit form just when the Gunners will need it as the Champions League semi-finals come into focus.

It was a good day for Trossard, who is now getting some much-needed confidence.
