There appears to be a couple of roadblocks in Arsenal's attempts to sign Benjamin Sesko.
The last thing that Arsenal fans want is for the striker search to not only take too long, but for there to be stumbling blocks in any potential deal.
With Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres the two big names the Gunners are chasing, Sesko has moved ahead in the pecking order.
So much so that the player's camp and the club have begun discussions, but according to The Sun, things haven't gone well.
There are reports that Sesko wants a release clause put into his contract, and the other big thing stopping this is his wage demands.
The Sun reports the Gunners are "growing frustrated" with the situation, and for fans wanting a swift resolution to this deal, that is a tough thing to hear.
Is Arsenal's Sesko dream over?
That is a valid question but right now, we would have to say no. There are always going to be negotiations, and this will be no different.
However, the release clause isn't ideal, nor are Sesko's wage demands with the Gunners clearly wanting to keep within the current wage structure and not have it blow out like it has in previous years.
Given Arsenal's need to secure the services of a striker, this latest Sesko news puts it in real doubt that the club will be able to sign him, and that attention might now turn to Gyokeres, who clearly knows he isn't the first choice on the Gunners' striker wish list.
There is every reason to think that this could be the end of the Sesko dream, especially if Arsenal isn't willing to budge on the wage demands. But surely the club knows that if you want a world-class striker, he isn't going to come on the cheap. It will cost them.
But after seeing the Gunners' title challenge fall by the wayside due to a lack of firepower, Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta surely know the importance of getting any deal over the line.
This latest Sesko news will give us a good indication of how far Arteta and Arsenal are actually willing to go in securing the striker needed to win the title.
