Arsenal isn't guaranteed to finish top four this season with just four games left to play in the league.
As we turn for home in the Premier League, Arsenal's in a precarious position when it comes to its top-four hunt, and this is despite the club sitting in second for most of the domestic campaign.
But with the Champions League taking some of the focus, the Gunners have taken their eye of the ball domestically, with the draw against Brentford, that saw the Gunners chop and change their squad in preparation for the second leg of their Champions League clash against Real Madrid being the biggest tip to where the club's focus is.
The draw against Crystal Palace came on the heels of a 4-0 win over Ipswich Town, so Arsenal is capable of winning games with the looming thought of Champions League progression going on in the background.
However, with each draw, the Gunners have been slowly dragged back into a position that Arteta wants no part of, and now, winning all four remaining games has to happen.
Is Arsenal's top-four spot in danger?
As things currently stand, Arsenal is five points ahead of Newcastle in third, and six ahead of Manchester City in fourth, and just seven from Nottingham Forest in seventh, who have a game in hand. So the Gunners could be right in the thick of a top-four battle while still trying to win the Champions League.
That isn't a great spot to be, particularly with a squad size that doesn't allow Mikel Arteta to rotate without the need to worry about performance.
So four games left in the league season, and five points ahead of Newcastle in third, one could say the Gunners are in a good position, right? Well, there is something that will make fans shift nervously in their seats.
Arsenal play both Liverpool and Newcastle.
Now it gets interesting, doesn't it?
Every win is like gold for the Gunners but if they lose even one of those games or draw both, the door is then open for the chasing pack to overtake.
Arsenal finishing seventh? That is nightmare fuel, which is why Arteta has to be mindful of going all gas, no brakes in the league to make sure of a top four finish.
Which, right now, seems to anything but guaranteed.
