Lamine Yamal is already showing Arsenal how they failed to use Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus scored in his Champions League debut for his new club, Barcelona. He scored a headed goal, one that you wouldn't assume of him given his short stature, but he was met with a superb cross from Lamine Yamal.

Jesus stands at 5 feet, 9 inches. He's not even at the point where he can lie about being six feet (guilty parties, make yourselves known) and get away with it.

Yet, despite not having the height to be a typical target man, the Brazilian centre forward has scored a surprising number of headers throughout his career.

According to StatBunker, Gabriel Jesus has scored an impressive 27 headed goal throughout his senior career. He scored 19 for Man City and eight for Arsenal, with around 20% of his total goals coming from headers.

Lamine Yamal has already learned what Arsenal players didn't

Lamine Yamal was excellent himself on the night, but he turned provider for Gabriel Jesus who had only just come on. A pinpoint cross from the right found Jesus in the box.

Given his height, Jesus has scored a disproportionate number of goals from his head. He is most commonly known for being great with the ball at his feet, but it took Yamal no time at all to trust his more-than-reliable heading prowess.

Barcelona don't need to rely on crosses into the box. However, it's a great option for them to have, should they need it. They certainly have the means to play cute crosses into the box, and they have bodies to meet them, too.

Arsenal primarily played into Jesus' dribbling strengths. They opted to feed him at his feet, but if Yamal proved anything last night, it's that the Gunners might have missed a trick with how they used Jesus.

The game was played just before Arsenal's opener, so Gooners may have missed it.

He came on late in the match and scored with his first touch. In many ways, he couldn't have asked for a better cameo, as he put the cherry on the cake of a pretty phenomenal Barcelona performance.

There is every likelihood that Arsenal will meet Barcelona in the Champions League this season. After all, they are two of the favourites to win the competition, so it could even be the final.

Arsenal fans haven't seen the last of Jesus yet, and the Brazilian will feel like he has a lot more to say on the pitch.
