Arsenal continue to fight on four fronts, and while they may not win the quadruple, all four trophies are still up for grabs. At the top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables, the Gunners progressed in the FA Cup on Sunday, fighting back from a goal down to defeat Portsmouth 4-1 at Fratton Park. They will now host EFL League One side Wigan in round four next month.

Next up, Mikel Arteta's team is fully focused on the Carabao Cup. Arsenal will make the short 8.2-mile journey across the capital to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of their semi-final against Chelsea. Having been crushed 4-0 on aggregate by Newcastle in last year's semi-finals, Arteta and his team are determined to do substantially better this time round.

The Gunners have only won the League Cup twice, doing so in '87 and '93, beaten in three finals since the latter. Now, though, given the strength of Arteta's squad, belief is growing that Arsenal could end the season with multiple trophies to show for their efforts. Ahead of Wednesday night's London derby, Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is under no illusions of how tough a test it'll be for his new team.

What Liam Rosenior said about Arsenal in his press conference

Following the sacking of Enzo Maresca on New Year's Day, Liam Rosenior is now in charge of Chelsea. The 41-year-old's first match at the helm came on Saturday night, with the Blues crushing Charlton Athletic 5-1 at the Valley in the FA Cup.

Rosenior will be welcomed to Stamford Bridge for the first time on Wednesday, albeit not by the 4,058 visiting Gooners in the Shed End. Ahead of this first leg, Rosenior made it clear that he is not underestimating Chelsea's opposition:

""Arsenal are good at everything.... I respect them... I don't know who's calling them set piece FC, I'm definitely not. I think they are a team who are very good without the ball. I think they have a really clear idea in the way they want to play with the ball... they are very well organised with good delivery on set plays." "

Arsenal continue to be the Premier League's set-piece kings. Arteta's team scored 17 goals from corners throughout 2025, the second-most any side has ever managed in a calendar year in the competition, as documented below:

Arsenal's threat from set-pieces, and corners in particular, is nothing new. This is undeniable. Sunday's 4-1 victory at Pompey, in which three goals came via corners, did little to dispel this stereotype. Nevertheless, supporters all recognise that there is so much more to Arteta's team than just set plays, so they will have been pleased to see Rosenior acknowledge that this is the case.

Two years ago, Arteta famously said that he wants his team to be the best at everything, which obviously includes set-pieces. Well, the way Arsenal are going this season, they might well be.
