Arsenal face their toughest test of the Premier League season yet as they travel to Liverpool on Sunday evening.

The Gunners are looking to bounce back after suffering sheer embarrassment to exit the Carabao Cup in midweek. Facing League Two side Fleetwood Town, Viktor Gyökeres was forced to equalise after his side were stunned to go a goal down, but they went on to lose in a penalty shootout to suffer one of the worst cup upsets of all time.

Liverpool were also in cup action, but prevailed on spot kicks with victory over Chelsea. The Blues had gone 1-0 up at Anfield through Morgan Rogers from 12 yards, but Cody Gakpo levelled just minutes after with his own penalty. The Reds then took the game all the way to win the tie in sudden death.

Mikel Arteta will be very prepared for this clash as he and his side look to put Tuesday's humiliation behind them, but nothing will be easy as they come up against one of their hardest opponents yet in one of the league's most intimidating atmospheres.

Here's our preview of Arsenal's trip to Liverpool.

Liverpool team news

Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz are both suffering with respective issues, but neither have been ruled out for the visit of Arsenal with Andoni Iraola confirming both players are in with a chance of making the squad.

Florian Wirtz should be involved after featuring against Chelsea, but Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni will all be absent.

As Iraola rotates back to full strength, Alexander Isak will come back in with the hopes of continuing his red hot scoring form while Bradley Barcola will also be aiming to add to his good recent performances.

Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Arsenal: Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak

Arsenal team news

Max Dowman will not be available after the FA rejected Arsenal's appeal to overturn the red card he was shown at Fleetwood. As a result, he will serve the first of his three game suspension against Liverpool.

There is an uncertainty around Noni Madueke's availability, but I have some confidence he will be back involved for this one while Christos Tzolis is expected to make his long-awaited return from injury. Riccardo Calafiori and Declan Rice should also be involved after training in the week.

Arteta will revert to full strength, or as strong as possible, for this clash with the likes of Martin Ødegaard and Eberechi Eze coming back into the lineup.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Liverpool: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimarães, Rice, Ødegaard; Madueke, Gyökeres, Eze

Liverpool vs Arsenal score prediction

This is no doubt Arsenal's toughest test of the season yet and their defeat to Fleetwood is hardly the result they would have wanted in their mind ahead of this clash.

Liverpool will be eager to continue their recent rise in form and as always at Anfield will provide the Gunners with plenty of problems, but the Reds aren't guaranteed victors.

Arteta has never managed a victory on the red half of Merseyside, and Arsenal have not stole three points in a very long time, but tomorrow feels like it could be their biggest chance to do so. However, there won't be much to separate the two sides in what is likely to be a well-fought draw.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal
