If Arsenal gets anything out of the first leg against PSG in the Champions League semifinal, you can't help but feel like Martin Odegaard will play apart. While he hasn't been his usual self in terms of numbers this season, those beady-eyed supporters recognise his efforts both on and off the ball.

The captain's remarkable technical ability speaks for itself; he is a treat to watch, especially with the ball at his feet. However, this season, the Norwegian skipper has improved the "not so pretty" side of his game, working tirelessly out of possession to keep things ticking for the Gunners.

Martin Odegaard, as the captain, has an extra incentive to play well tonight. He will consider it a personal objective to reach the Champions League final, something Arsenal hasn't done in almost two decades.

Martin Odegaard fires bold warning ahead of Arsenal vs PSG

To achieve this, Odegaard will call upon his personal skillset, but also bring the best out of his Arsenal teammates. It is something he does well, hence why he proudly dons the armband.

Speaking ahead of the PSG game, Martin Odegaard has praised the collective harmony within the Gunners squad, while seemingly firing a stern warning to the PSG in his undertone.

In his own words, Martin Odegaard said: "We’ve been working together as a group for a long time and everyone is really confident in each other. We trust each other. We know what to do on the pitch, and when it comes to games like this, we know what it means and how important it is."

Fans can see that the Gunners trust each other. This was personified in the quarter final matches against Real Madrid when, even with all of the injury concerns coming their way, Arsenal still emerged victorious and never looked like losing the tie.

If Odegaard can inspire a similar team performance against PSG, then Arsenal fans will be over the moon. The home advantage in the first leg could suit us yet again this time round.
