Martin Odegaard secured his 71st Premier League win as Arsenal captain in his side's 1-0 victory at Manchester United, and in doing so has equalled the feat of one of the most iconic skippers in the club's history.
The Gunners' leader has now won as many league matches as Patrick Vieira did while Gunners captain and that is an accomplishment that shouldn't go without its plaudits. It sees him go joint-second with the most Prem wins as Arsenal skipper, behind only the legendary Tony Adams.
While Odegaard has come under some criticism during his time as Gunners captain, achieving such a feat shows that the team are on the right course under his leadership.

Odegaard was first named Arsenal captain ahead of the 2022/23 season after leading his side in the final games of the previous campaign.
He has played a crucial part in two title races and remained a consistent part of the Gunners setup, missing just three league games in his first two seasons with the armband before suffering an injury that kept him out for a long period midway through last term.
An underwhelming 2024/25 campaign saw Odegaard draw plenty of criticism regarding both his quality as a player and a leader, with many people claiming the captaincy should be handed to Declan Rice.
However, Mikel Arteta confirmed prior to the United win that the team had voted for the Norwegian to remain their skipper for this season and that was very much the correct decision.
Despite his mixed performances, Odegaard has proven that he is the right man to leave this Arsenal team. He has been a key part in the team's transition from top four prospects to title hopefuls and will be looking to go one step further this season.
Matching Vieira's record and joining him as the Gunners captain with the second highest amount of Premier League victories shows that he has a clear winning mentality and will eventually lead this team to a title.
The silverware is yet to come, but it won't be long until this Arsenal side reap the rewards and it will come under Odegaard's leadership.
