As is usually the case ahead of the senior side's Champions League encounter, Arsenal's Under-19s team took on Bayern Munich in a UEFA Youth League clash and Max Dowman stole the headlines with a superb performance.
Not selected by Mikel Arteta for this evening's match, the record-breaking Hale End star was named in the starting lineup for the young Gunners' clash and helped them to a 4-2 win over the Bavarian side.
Dowman netted a brace in the victory and it was his second goal that caught the eye of many as deep into stoppage time, he channelled his inner Lionel Messi to dance round the Bayern defence before chipping over the goalkeeper.

In a season where he has bounced between the senior and academy sides, Dowman has performed consistently for both, catching the eye when appearing for the first team and being a standout for the youth.
It has been a breakthrough campaign for the 15-year-old as he has broke a number of records, including becoming the youngest player in history to appear in the Champions League.
He has a long way to go in his career yet, but has already shown how talented he is and that within a few years, he could be challenging for a starting spot in the Arsenal first team.
For now though, he will continue to be utilised by both Arteta and the academy staff, but his goal against Bayern showed once again that he is one of the biggest prospects in English football, highlighting the talent the Gunners have at their disposal.
The youngster will now be hoping he can celebrate his brilliant performance by watching Arsenal take on Bayern Munich as they go in search of a fifth win from five games in the Champions League.
