Mikel Arteta explains what Bruno Guimarães has already brought to Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claims the energy with which Bruno Guimaraes came to the squad during his first training session is already having its benefits.

Speaking after Arsenal's surprising pre-season loss to Borussia Dortmund over the weekend, Arteta had a lot of good things to say about Guimaraes' arrival at the club, and how it only means great things for them if they want to level up this season.

Speaking about Guimaraes' energy and qualities, Arteta said: "Well, we see very clearly, especially the energy that he brought immediately to the training ground, the hunger, the desire to come here and create a big history at the club. And that's the ambition that we need.

"We want to go to the next level and [we are] very, very much convinced that we're going to need players with such a personality, desire and character to push everybody inside the organisation to go even higher.

These are exactly the sorts of personalities that Arsenal want on their roster now. The Gunners are always going to be a big club, but it is players like Guimaraes that could take them to the next level. It is not just the quality that Guimaraes brings to the table - it is also the leadership, mentality and energy he plays with that will rub off on the rest of the squad.

Obviously, it won't be done with just him. More players will be signed who have a similar level of ambition as Guimaraes, and the players who are already playing for the first team also will not have that problem. Achieving as much as they have with this team, coupled with how many heartbreaks the have suffered over the course of the last few years will only help them become stronger.

Those are the sorts of losses that either make or break football players. The ones who push on and get even more motivated are the ones that the club have kept around in their squad, and those players will help, too.

Arsenal have a huge shot here. All of their rivals are either in a bit of a transition period with not a whole lot to promise their fans until the season starts, or they are not good enough to challenge for the league.

Arsenal are the only stable top club in the Premier League, and this is a chance for them to start a dynasty.
