If there is one sole position that Arsenal have really, really had problems in, it is, ironically, the striker position. They signed Viktor Gyokeres earlier in the summer, and they already had two really good strikers before him as well.

They also had Mikel Merino, who had played there in the past, but he is a midfielder after all. Despite having these three strikers, Moreno has played a substantial amount of minutes for Arsenal as a centre-forward, and it makes no sense.

Injuries have hit them far more than they would have imagined, and Arsenal just don't really have that position locked up for a single player at the moment. Everyone's still comfortably in the race to be the Gunners' first-choice striker.

Everyone thought Gyokeres was going to be that player, but now, with his form troubles and injury troubles, it is not as clear as it used to be, or as they hoped it would be.

Mikel Arteta gives a Kai Havertz update that'll leave Arsenal fans buzzing

Gabriel Jesus has looked really good since coming back, and soon it will be Kai Havertz's turn as well. Arteta was actually asked about Havertz's fitness and how far he is from making his long-awaited return to the first team.

His answer was optimistic, and it will make fans really, really excited.

He said: “It will be a matter of days, not weeks. Let’s see in the next steps how he responds to that. Kai is a player that we missed a lot, a player that brings the team into a different dimension."

Havertz is not just a striker. He helps the team find spaces where there are no spaces, and he helps them in ways that not many people realise.

Havertz is a really unique player, and even though he's not the most glamorous player who gets all the headlines that a Bakayo Saka or a Declan Rice would, he is extremely intelligent.

Honestly, it is really good news for Arteta, who has actively missed a player like Havertz in his team, someone who links the midfield with the attack as seamlessly as he does on a regular basis.

It would also help Gyokeres a lot when his German teammate inevitably returns. It will be tough to find space for both him and Havertz in the same team, but with the right formula, this is a combination that could prove to be deadly.
