Christian Norgaard was missing from the Arsenal squad as they secured a 1-0 victory at Manchester United in their opening game of the Premier League season and Mikel Arteta has revealed the reason behind his absence.
The Gunners boss confirmed in his post-match press conference that the new addition suffered "a little issue" which rendered him unable to play at Old Trafford. Arteta did share that the medical staff will address the problem.
Some fans were naturally concerned with Norgaard's absence right at the start of the season, but will be relieved to know that he is only suffering with a small issue and will hope to see him back available soon.
Mikel Arteta reveals why Christian Norgaard missed Man United win

Having signed from Brentford this summer, Norgaard won't be much more than a backup option for Arsenal, but should still play a pivotal part throughout this season.
With that being said, supporters will be glad to hear his issue is only a slight problem so he shouldn't be expected to miss much more action.
Fellow newcomer Martin Zubimendi is expected to be Arteta's first-choice option at the base of midfield, but as he adapts to the Premier League, there will be times where Norgaard will have to step in. The Spaniard looked slightly shaky and his side could have benefitted from being able to bring his counterpart into the game.
The Denmark international looked decent throughout pre-season and should be a good addition to the Gunners' setup with plenty of Premier League experience under his belt. His services will come in handy throughout what is set to be a very busy campaign.
Supporters will be hoping Norgaard can make his comeback from injury soon to avoid mounting pressure on Zubimendi and ensure the squad has good depth across all areas.
