Arsenal fans love Mikel Arteta, and there is no debating why. He has changed a lot of things at the club since he arrived more than six years ago.

Arsenal were a mess back then, and he had to really get everyone switched on, and improve the squad by a lot over the years.

Now, Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe. They might genuinely be the best team in Europe this season, leading the Premier League and the Champions League tables.

Arteta has a big, big job to do to help Arsenal bring it home once again for the first time in 20 years, and there is a specific requirement in terms of coaching that he has to make sure he gets bang on.

When Arsenal, or any other big team for that matter, are winning as many games as the Gunners are this season, players could potentially become complacent and start assuming wins long before the game is even played, and it is the coach's job to make sure those things don't happen.

Arteta was asked about how he keeps the complacency side of things in check for his Arsenal players, and the response he gave to the media about his method was actually perfect.

He said: "Well, showing them [our players] the team that they are, the game they had against Villa a few weeks ago, and understand that a team in that position have to react and have to show their teeth, and that’s a very dangerous thing, especially in this league when every team has the quality that they have. So from our side, that’s not going to happen."

It is ridiculously smart to think that way.

Arsenal players may feel invincible after a few wins - especially the ones over Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur, because of how big they were.

However, keeping your feet on the ground is what makes you more motivated to win the Premier League or the Champions League. That is what keeps you hungry, that keeps you fighting to win these big games, these titles. It also shows how important these "small" games are.

I don't want to disrespect any club, because any game is important if you want to win the whole thing, but that is what the players should feel as well. So, finding ways to make them feel mortal, showing them the weaknesses they have to work on is splendid.

This method brings out that side in a perfect manner.
