Arsenal are at a good spot right now. Despite the draws to Chelsea and Manchester City, and the loss over the weekend to Aston Villa, Arsenal comfortably sit at the top of the Premier League as well as the Champions League.

Particularly, after the win over Club Brugge in their European fixture on Wednesday, Arsenal are the only team to maintain a perfect winning record in the Champions League after six wins.

There are things they need to improve on, and they need to be more consistent with their results, but the improvements they have made from seasons prior are also clear as day.

Arsenal look like contenders, they play like contenders and they act like contenders. Earlier, something used to be always missing. Now, though, things are looking good for the Gunners.

However, there is still one question on everyone's minds whenever we get close to the transfer window reopening.

Mikel Arteta swiftly dodges a question every Arsenal fan wants answered

We are still in December, so there is a few weeks to go before anyone in Europe has to talk about those sorts of things again, but there will inevitably be talk about Arsenal signings.

Arteta was asked about it as well, and it seems like he has swiftly moved past the question without really giving it a clear answer.

He said: “At the moment, we're just focusing on bringing the players back, and hopefully it will be a matter of weeks. We know how important those weeks are going to be.

"We're going to come into the period where a lot of things start to get defined in that period and hopefully, we’re going to have them.”

I mean, I do understand his point of view if he is ducking the question. No manager in world football likes to talk about transfers that have not even materialised. There is no confirmation whether Arsenal actually want to sign anyone in the winter transfer window.

Even if there was a chance they would look into it, this would be the time to be looking into it. There would not be a clear-cut answer at the moment either way. At least in my opinion.

And besides, Arsenal's squad looks pretty complete to me. They've got good defensive coverage in every position. They have got two really talented pivots, some really creative midfielders, as well as good options going forward.

So, there is not really an immediate need to improve the squad. If there is any area where they would like to sign a replacement, they would be better suited to do it in the summer anyway.
