Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss to Newcastle and while the ground lost in the title race was bad, so too was the manner in which the Gunners lost.

Mikel Arteta will be searching for answers after his Arsenal side were outplayed in every facet by a spirited Newcastle side in a 1-0 loss.

Such was the manner in which the Gunners surrendered the game; it leaves big question marks around the team and has some wondering if the injuries issues have now reached a tipping point for Arsenal.

Alexander Isak's header was the lone goal in the game, but the Gunners never once looked capable of mounting a comeback as they fell further behind Liverpool in the title race.

Here are three takeaways from the loss to Newcastle.


1. Should Trossard start again?

The Belgian has made him name in north London as a super sub...maybe it's time to revert back to that.

With Ethan Nwaneri on the bench, Arteta pulled the trigger and injected the teenager into the contest, but Trossard was so far off the pace, it was worrying.

He couldn't get anything going with the ball at his feet, and his passes, well, the less said, the better.
