Missed chance ended Arsenal's Carabao Cup dream

Given the hole that Arsenal had dug for itself, getting the first goal was crucial in the tie to give some form of life to the Gunners.

And a glorious chance fell to Martin Odegaard after 18 minutes. Martinelli was tackled, with the ball spilling into the vision of Odegaard who was alone, inside the box with the goal at his mercy.

The skipper's shot hit the upright, and just seconds later, Murphy scored the opening goal to end the tie as a contest. It was yet another guilt-edged chance that went begging, and the Gunners paid the ultimate price once again.
