Arsenal drew 0-0 to Nottingham Forest away at The City Ground on Saturday night, and failed to move nine points ahead of Manchester City, who lost 2-0 in their derby earlier on the same day.

However, it was still one point gained over their main title rivals this season, putting them up to seven points ahead of the Cityzens, and surely, Arsenal fans will be content with that, if not overly impressed.

However, Aston Villa, who have also had a brilliant season so far, have the chance to cut Arsenal's lead from seven to four when they face Everton on Sunday.

Be that as it may, Arsenal are still in a brilliant position at the moment, and it just might be their year.

Aston Villa will obviously keep knocking on their door, but Arsenal would probably consider Manchester City as more of a title contender than Villa, purely because of their success in the last few years, coupled with the recruitment they have made in these last two windows.

Noni Madueke highlights Arsenal's biggest problem vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal winger Noni Madueke, who played against Forest on Saturday, was asked about the game that got Arsenal an added point, at a ground where it is already difficult for top teams to get great results now.

He was asked about why they were not able to win at The City Ground on Saturday night, and what went wrong for the Gunners, and he gave a very mature reply.

He said: “We weren't clinical enough in front of goal. I think they didn't have a chance really at all, they didn't really do anything to our goal. We weren't clinical and we could have won the game, but like I said, we take a point and we move on.

“We’re in four competitions, so we literally play, recover, play, recover, play. So it's a lot of games, but that's the beauty of playing in England.”

He was also asked about how although Arsenal are still seven points, the draw was still disappointing, to which he gave a reflective response.

He said: “It’s disappointing to draw for sure. We wanted to win the game, we didn't achieve that. Disappointing in that sense, but it's a point we take on the road and we regroup. We've got an important clash versus Inter in the Champions League, which we'll go into trying to win.

“There is a long way to go. We know that we've been very consistent and we'll continue to do so.

Madueke is right. There is a long way to go, and there is also a lot to do in the next few days, as Arsenal prepare for their game against Inter during the week in the Champions League.

However, Arsenal will need to get their goalscoring in order before they face one of the best defenses in Europe.
