Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane might be on Arsenal's radar this summer.
Entering the summer, Arsenal has a host of needs that must be addressed, with the first port of call a new striker.
That has been known for some time, but there is also another position that needs attention and that is out wide.
With Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Arteta doesn't exactly have good depth at the position.
Real Madrid star Rodrygo has seen his name mentioned as a possible target, but the winger is reportedly waiting to see how new manager Xabi Alonso is going to use him before making any decision on his future.
But he isn't the only name that the Gunners should be sitting on.
And we offer another.
Should Arsenal look to Leroy Sane in low-cost move?
Having worked under Arteta at Manchester City, Sane to Arsenal makes sense in that aspect, but also, talks over a new deal with Bayern Munich for the winger have reportedly stalled.
Per Bild's Christian Falk, Sane is keen on a move to the Premier League with Arsenal already starting talks over a deal.
So that sounds positive, plus Sane wouldn't break the bank either and would give the Gunners some nice depth at a position they desperately they need it at.
Now, would signing Sane be the sort of move the Gunners could make to further push their Premier League title bid? Sort of, as Leroy isn't exactly a needle-mover anymore.
However as we know, depth in the title race is what cost the Gunners this season, and having Sane coming on from the bench or starting instead of Raheem Sterling is a big upgrade.
While it isn't known how far along talks are, the fact that Arteta already has a relationship with Sane might put the Gunners in pole position to make a smart and shrewd signing.
If Sane can't agree to a new deal with Bayern Munich, Arsenal would be fools not to at least pick up the phone and gauge interest.
Which, if we believe Falk's reporting, Arteta and Co. have already done.
