Negative #2: Trossard and Sterling still struggling

It's got to be worth asking the question, is Trossard nothing more than a super sub for Arsenal? Arteta's lucky rabbit's foot hasn't delivered consistently enough during full outings.
Trossard was passive off the ball and errant in possession against a disciplined Forest side. The Belgian never showcased the flair, touch nor composure to turn even a half-chance into something more.
While Trossard failed to find the magic, Sterling was blandness personified after entering the fray in the 77th minute. He never stretched the home side's back line, nor varied his movement enough to displace defenders and draw them into uncomfortable positions.
Intelligent runs used to be a feature of Sterling's game when he was at his best. Way back when. Fast forward to the present day and playing without variety is exposing the natural flaws in Sterling's game.
Issues like a dodgy first touch, ponderous decision-making and erratic control. Sterling's being asked to beat defenders in one-on-one situations too often.
He needs to be making angled and darting off-the-ball runs to meet through passes. Provided Arteta can find the players to thread those passes.
It's late in the day to still be needing solutions to these problems.
