Negative #1: Gyokeres needs better service from wide areas

The ease which Virgil Van-Dijk and Ibrahima Konate dealt with Viktor Gyokeres is more than a little concerning. Arsenal's new £55 million (plus add-ons) centre-forward was limited to just 18 touches as he struggled to make any meaningful impact on the game.

Outside of the box, Gyokeres was poor. On the half-way line he gave away foul after foul and won precious little. Most of his touches were out on the left-hand-side of the penalty area, where he made one unsuccessful attempt to dribble the ball and had one unsuccessful touch.

In contrast, Gyokeres' two touches inside the box were key passes that created chances for Arsenal. It is imperative then that Arteta quickly works out a way to get the Swede good service inside the box.

Positive #2: Noni Madueke put in an eye-catching shift

Noni Madueke was unlucky not to come away with at least a goal at Anfield. The speedster had the beating of Milos Kerkez in a foot race and almost got in behind the Hungarian on a couple of ocassions.

A threat throughout, Madueke had three shots at goal. His first effort was on target but lacked the power to beat the Liverpool keeper.

Kerkez, who it must be said had a good game, made up for what he lacked in pace against Madueke with excellent positioning, strength and good timing in the challenge. His block to prevent Madueke's next effort took the sting out of a shot that looked goal-bound.
