4. Havard Nordtveit
A name which often goes overlooked is Havard Nordtveit. The Norwegian defender is a strange case to analyse because he had so much potential but never had the opportunity to even showcase it with Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger signed the youngster in 2007 and he spent four years with the club without making a single league appearance. Most of his time with Arsenal was spent recovering from injury or being on loan elsewhere.
In 2011, Borussia Monchengladbach signed him and it was the best possible thing to happen to Nordtveit. He spent five successful years with Gladbach, becoming a mainstay in their team. Nordtveit did return to London twice, to West Ham and then to Fulham on loan. In the end, though, he will be remembered for his time in the Bundesliga.
