News broke earlier today that Arsenal were interested in signing Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. The Swedish striker has emerged as one of the best forwards in England since he signed from Real Sociedad in 2022. If Mikel Arteta does land his striker target, then some players will instantly feel the benefit.

2 winners and 1 loser from Arsenal signing Alexander Isak

Without further ado, here are 2 players who would immediately benefit from Arsenal signing Alexander Isak and one who could miss out...

1. Gabriel Martinelli (winner)

Gabriel Martinelli would benefit from Arsenal signing Alexander Isak, for two reasons. Firstly, the Swedish attacker loves to play passes out wide. In fact, according to EPL Analysis, MOST of the passes attempted by Isak come from the left-hand side. Therefore, bringing in Isak would involve Martinelli in build-up play much more often.

Secondly, and excuse me for pointing out the obvious - Isak is MASSIVE. The Real Sociedad official account list Isak as measuring in at 6 foot 4 inches. For context, this is the same height as Kai Havertz.

Martinelli has shown how he benefits from having tall players in the starting eleven. Most notably, he finished off a chance provided to him by Takehiro Tomiyasu winning an aerial duel against Manchester City. This archetypal goal could be repeated a few times next season if Isak does sign for Arsenal.
