The 2024/25 edition of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is well underway, and players have until August 16th to select their initial squad of 15 players. Piecing together that first draft is a little tougher this season, given how prices have seemingly been raised across the board.

In particular, many Arsenal players are now hitting those premium price points, and it's not as easy to fit these players in as it might have been before. Regardless, though, now that it is established as one of the strongest squads in the league, it is still worth shopping at the North London club for a couple of assets.

From an Arsenal fan's perspective, here are three reliable starters who should play a key role for the Gunners this season and subsequently should return good value to your FPL squads.

3. Kai Havertz - £8.0 million

A slow start to life as a Gunner saw Havertz under immense pressure from fans and critics. But, around the midway point of the season, his transition to a new striker role redefined his value to the team. In 12 starts in the league in this position, the German has recorded a very impressive eight goals and six assists.

A well-rounded skill set, consistent output and clutch moments - Havertz has become precisely what Arsenal fans have been looking for. Reports have confirmed that the 25-year-old will ultimately be the starting number nine moving forward.

Havertz is now classified as a forward for this season, meaning he'll earn less points for some returns. Nonetheless, he is still worth trying to squeeze in. The £8.0 million price point is decent, considering the fact that he is a starting striker for what is one of the most prolific attacking sides in the league. Furthermore, his FPL points total of 180 for last season was the 4th most among his teammates, despite playing in awkward positions for half the season.

Competing against the likes of Erling Haaland, Ollie Watkins and Aleksandr Isak for FPL ownership won't be easy, but at least that means he could be a bit of a differential. Worth considering if there's space in your front three.

2. William Saliba - £6.0 million

Mikel Arteta's system tweaks propelled the Arsenal defence to a whole new level last season. The team conceded just 29 times in 38 games, keeping 18 clean sheets in the process.

Understandably, Arsenal's defensive assets have shot up in starting price for the new season, but it is still worth buying into what was previously a really valuable backline. The immediate standout is Ben White, who is the priciest option, coming in at £6.5 million. The additional fee, coupled with potential rotation chances with Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu, means he is probably one to stave off for now. Similarly, many would think Timber at £5.5 million would offer the best value given his quality and versatility, but now, with the potential incoming of Riccardo Calafiori; the Dutchman's minutes could be inconsistent.

That leaves the formidable centre-back partnership between Saliba and Gabriel, both priced at £6.0 million. The latter option is argued to be a stronger goal threat on set-pieces; Gabriel scored an impressive four last campaign. However, not only did Saliba score more FPL points (164) than the Brazilian (149), but he is just that little bit more reliable for consistent minutes.

At the beginning of last season, Gabriel was benched in favour of a slightly tweaked tactical set-up with Partey at right back. Calafiori could be joining Timber, Kiwior, and Tomiyasu as additional options to support similar systems. Arteta might spring to surprise opponents, and this could be at the expense of Gabriel's minutes. On the other hand, Saliba has consistently maintained his role in the team, playing every minute in all 38 Premier League games. For a reliable Arsenal defender, this would be your best bet.

1. Bukayo Saka - £10.0 million

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is worth £10.0 million for the new FPL season—the most expensive Arsenal asset and fourth priciest in the game. It's a big investment, but a highly recommended one. It's the highest value he has ever reached in the game, and his consistent price rise over the years toward double-digit price points speaks to the capacity of his talent.

With 20 goals and 14 assists in 47 total appearances, the 23-year-old had the most returns out of any other Arsenal player. His 226 FPL points in the 2023/24 campaign were higher than several premium assets like Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.

Don't be surprised if he breaks his own output record once more in the oncoming season. Among all the Arsenal options to choose from in FPL, you won't find one better than Saka.
