3. Kai Havertz

In his home nation, Kai Havertz has had an opening of the tournament to be proud of.

The striker has scored a goal and registered an assist in his opening three fixtures. While this seems nothing outstanding from the man who produced an impressive run of form in the latter half of 2023/24, he's been forced to surrender many of his minutes to Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Füllkrug.

Operating in a well-oiled German machine, the striker has not been forced to make too many touches of the ball, as he is a mere but effective cog in the system. However, winning nine duels, taking nine shots and completing 84% of his passes, Havertz is arguably one of the most versatile cogs in the tournament.

His time on this summer's biggest footballing stage hasn't all been auspicious, however, as the striker has still shown that he is unable to convert all the chances that come his way. In Die Mannschaft's final match of the group stage against Switzerland, the 25-year-old had a 0.6 xG, but could only manage to steer one of his five shots on target.

As Germany remain one of the favourites to lift the Henri Delaunay Cup next month, Havertz could go all the way with Germany, but first, they have to battle it out against undefeated Denmark.
