A man who wouldn’t look out of place on a ‘most hated ex-Arsenal players’ list, Robin van Persie takes the top spot. Despite how it ended, it is hard to deny his talent and it would be unfair not to give him a spot on this list.

Van Persie joined the club in 2004 from Feyenoord and made 278 appearances for the club over an eight-year period. He was an incredible talent, possessing expert control of the football and a powerful left foot.

The Dutchman was a serial goalscorer, something the club is currently lacking, as evidenced by 132 goals for the club including 96 in the league. Following the departure of Cesc Fabregas, Van Persie was handed the captain’s armband and continued to hit new heights each year.

During his final season at the club, he scored 30 league goals in 38 appearances before forcing an exit to Manchester United. Since then, he has been rightfully disowned by Arsenal fans everywhere. It's best not to bring up what happened next.
