3 keys for Arsenal returning to winning ways after slump

  • Arsenal will take on Crystal Palace this weekend
  • The Gunners have not won a match since 17th December
  • Winless run left us five points adrift of top spot

Maybe we should just forget tactics, signings and any team-sheet alterations; Arsenal will get back to winning ways once they learn how to finish.

That blunt message sums up our predicament, and it is amplified by (infuriating) data: over their last three matches, the Gunners have registered 61 shots, kept only 16 on target and accumulated an impressive xG of 6.47 - all for one measly return.

But it must not be considered ‘bad luck’ as the players are constantly taking bad touches or else dithering on the ball when found in good goalscoring positions, almost - inexplicably - waiting for a defender to close them down.

Whatever the reason behind our woes, two weeks off should refocus minds and help us to rediscover the Midas touch up front, starting this weekend.

Has anyone thought of buying a new striker?
