Arsenal benefited from a loan transfer of their own, as they are set to sign David Raya permanently from Brentford in the summer transfer window. However, looking the other way, are there any players who impressed while representing Arsenal out on loan? Here are 3 players who return to Arsenal after impressive 2023/24 loan spells...

3 players who return to Arsenal after impressive 2023/24 loan spells

1. Kieran Tierney

The unfortunate case of Kieran Tierney might have taken a positive turn. The Scotland international who was a key component for Arsenal just a few years ago has slowly been fizzled out of the equation by Mikel Arteta, who does not value Tierney as high as the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, Kieran Tierney enjoyed an excellent loan spell with Real Sociedad as he used his versatility to get into the squad on a consistent basis, racking up 19 La Liga appearances. He also played twice in the Champions League this season.

That said, it is unlikely he will be given a chance to prove himself at Arsenal. Unfortunately, the club has moved on without him and Arsenal fans must accept that Arteta just doesn't rate him highly. Hopefully, a positive loan spell in 2023/24 would have increased his stock price and calibre, to help him secure a transfer elsewhere this summer.

2. Albert Sambi Lokonga

Unfortunately for Albert Sambi Lokonga, his involvement on loan was not enough to keep Luton Town in the Premier League. However, they sure gave Premier League fans a show as they carried the relegation battle until the final day.

Albert Sambi Lokonga made 17 Premier League appearances for Luton this season, which is more than he would have made had he remained at Arsenal. Therefore, it can be considered a successful loan spell for Sambi Lokonga, who is attracting interest after his impressive performances at Luton.

As per Standard, Arsenal have agreed to part ways with Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer, so he will seek a new club for next season.

3. Arthur Okonkwo

Young goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo spent the season on loan at Wrexham. The Hollywood-endorsed Welsh club secure promotion to League One, with the help of loaned-out Arsenal keeper Arthur Okonkwo between the sticks.

The 22-year-old made 36 League Two appearances this season, conceding just 30 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets. An impressive showing from the youngster, who could be eager to make a name for himself at Arsenal with Aaron Ramsdale's seemingly imminent departure.
