Emile Smith-Rowe has already switched to a different part of London this summer, Eddie Nketiah could be set to travel up north as an agreement with Nottingham Forest reportedly close, and Fabio Vieira is on his way back to Porto for the season. If Arsenal didn't already need an attacking reinforcement urgently enough, they must do now.

To enter a consecutive season with less squad depth in offensive positions feels illogical, and even more so, there was always the feeling that Arsenal could benefit from a new profile, even before the latest exits.

Fans should expect some movements between now and the end of the summer window, as a fresh addition to the frontline may have just shot up the list of priorities.

Potential Signings

In an ideal world, Arsenal wire whatever fee is required to Athletic Bilbao and bring Nico Williams to North London. The Euros winner is undoubtedly the optimal fit for the Gunners, but his recent pay rise coupled with the iconic number 10 shirt for the club gives the impression that he may not be willing to part from his place in the La Liga at the moment.

Furthermore, words from David Ornstein revealed that Arsenal were in the market for a winger, and more specifically one who would be willing to play understudy. It's difficult to assess who this could be however, given the quality required of even a squad member at the club is still important to control.

Recent links with Ademola Lookman make sense, as the Nigerian certainly fits the positional criteria, and his stellar hat-trick in the Europa League final will have added substantial value to his name. But the 26-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms with PSG, and an opportunity to strike a deal for him may be slipping away.

Johan Bakayoko of PSV and Simon Adingra of Brighton are exciting and explosive, and both have been linked with a move away from their respective clubs, though both are still fairly young in their senior careers, and would require a more prolonged development process.
