Positive #3: Enough time to recover

While it is not ideal to drop points during a title race, I would say this is a good time to have that poor run out of the way. 20 matches have been played with 18 more before the end of the season which is a very good number of matches to make up for the dropped points. The team is not far off the top, currently only two points behind but that could change if Liverpool beat Newcastle United on Monday.

Arteta needs to sort out his team from this decline ASAP and start picking up points in the league to have the chance to recover.

Negative #3: Title challenge at risk

Arsenal had a five-point lead over Manchester City a few weeks ago, which was very healthy. Any advantage over the champions is very good because everyone thinks they will just click and go on a run when it matters most.

But as it stands, Pep Guardiola’s men are level on points with Arsenal and have a game in hand. That is a huge challenge and if the Gunners keep dropping points, I’m afraid, the title race could be well and truly over before March.
